What is Gastric Shield? Gastric ulcers occur in up to 90% of performance horses. Gastric Shield by Strictly Equine can provide a safe, non toxic and cost effective alternative approach for the treatment and prevention of ulcers. Deglycerized licorice and silica have anti-inflammatory effects and aid in the healing of gastric tissue. Copper proteinate is very soothing to the digestive tract and can increase tissue healing. Magnesium and calcium act as a buffering agent to reduce the effects of excess stomach acid and are helpful in digestive tract healing. Lactobacillus Acidophilus and Lactococcus Lactis are live "good" bacteria to improve the health of the digestive tract. Feed 1 to 2 fluid ounces daily to horses with ulcers or irritated stomach. The one gallon jug will provide one horse with up to a 128 day supply.
